today was a strange game day. Kyu was running a Warmachine tournament, so we needed to be up at the store when they opened, so naturally i slept in and didn't have time to take anything with me to work on. that's okay though, they were doing a huge chunk of physical inventory and i spent most of the day helping with that, after spending the first bit helping Kyu re-do the tourney prep he'd already done that someone managed to throw out during the construction that's happened in the last month.
really, it's been weeks since i managed anything actually productive. i have a painting someone commissioned that needs to get done this week, and i really need to get more MH stuff painted since the deadline Kyu gave me was March, which is somewhat ambiguous, but also fast approaching. i've got a few pairs i'd be totally fine selling done, and more waiting still, so if i just set up a dedicated workspace i can totally get more finished this week.

huge progress in mom's kitchen yesterday, even if my shoulder dislocating did mean we couldn't start painting after all. we did get wallpaper completely removed from a full wall and the bits of wall flanking it. we also got the big metal shelving thing cleared off and disassembled.
at home i've lost the last few days playing Persona Q, which is a dungeon crawling crossover featuring the full casts of Persona 3 and Persona 4. it's not a sequel as it technically takes place midway through both games in an alternate dimension that manages to overlook that P3 and P4 canonically take place 2 years apart anyway. it's insanely fun though, and i'm REALLY enjoying myself with it. in all likelihood it's all i'll take with me to game day today (along with the 3DS charger, obviously). i'll just work on filling out the bestiary and grinding Power Spots for levels and loot to sell. really i could use the levels since progression-wise, i'm saved right before the boss fight for this dungeon. more HP for survivability is generally viewed as a good thing.

lots got done in a short time yesterday with mom. we got most of the wallpaper removed on two walls in her kitchen, more will get done this next weekend.
today Kyu isn't doing any gaming, he's hitting a reptile show with Muffin, but i'm still heading up with Jeremy (his brother), because my productivity at home is pretty much zero, and i could use the socialization for sure. sometime soonish i'll make myself take pictures of all the pieces i've repainted so i can show off a few weekend's labor. i'm pleased with what i've managed overall, but there's still plenty more to go.
mostly i'm waiting for the weather to be temperate enough for me to spend time outside spraying a sealant on the stuff i've already finished to keep it in good condition. it can't be too cold or too damp, or the sprays don't dry right, i've learned from prior mistakes based in impatience.

okay, so this week was a good one. i had a productive day at mom's yesterday, we got a lot more done prepping her kitchen for overhaul, and while we didn't get to painting anything, we picked colors (tentatively) and prepped the ceiling so if she's so inclined she can work on that solo this week. it's game day again, and i'm pretty much ready to go. this week i actually won't be taking my Pokedex Challenge though, last night i started working on painting the details on my plastic Monster High/Ever After High accessories. i got a lot done and i'm just gonna carry momentum with that forward today as much as i can.
i'm not abandoning the Pokedex Challenge, but i've reached a point where it's not really fitting in the notebook i have for it, so i need to pause until i can get a bigger one. honestly, i'm surprised the almost-400 i've done already fit as well as they do. any more and the thing just won't close, so something else is definitely in order to fill my time until i can up-size notebooks.
also, i managed to smash my ankle (the weak one) last night going to bed. it's starting to show a greyish purple-blue bruise today, so i think i'm gonna wrap it in a bandage and aim to sit as much as possible today. painting is a good sit-all-day activity, i just need to make sure i pack everything i could possibly need in my bag. i'm starting to hear general morning noises from upstairs, so it's about time to post this and double check my stuff. Kyu's never taken long to be ready to go after the getting out of bed part. xD

i forgot to post yesterday. oops. xD it was a productive day, overall. many games were played, and i got another 28 drawings done for my Pokedex challenge. there's a chance i may set up an art station and work on more of them today, but i don't know yet.
really most of this week has been spent on various Pokemon-related projects. i spent several hours trading back and forth with Rory to help him reach goals, then another hour off and on breeding and trading the results to him. i spent another large chunk of time transferring inventories from X and Y to Omega Ruby so i could replay the former without losing useful things. i also spent time all along gathering flags and farming berries for in-game side quests, so having an arty day with few button presses sounds nice, especially since i'm still really enjoying the project overall. i just haven't decided yet if i'm up for disrupting everyone else's potential anything in the living room tonight.
