Nicolai's goaty parts have been re-blushed and painted. xD

i am much happer this time. his hooves and horns and wings are GLITTERY! xD it looks like a broadway costume designer was sick all over, spewing glitter everywhere. it's black glitter though, so it's not too femmy for a boy doll. xD i plan to use this same glitter for Cuprit's horns, so it's good i figured it out now with the smaller pieces.

i'll take pictures tomorrow when the glue has (hopefully correctly) dried on the magnet-y bits. i'm letting it sit overnight this time. hopefully it'll play nice. xD

i spent about 10 minutes of my box opening spazzing and snuggling and going "ooooooh! cuuuuuuuuute!". xD also, the SOOM cream white is WHITE! xD it's way paler than i was expecting! i feel bad for poor Nicolai, he looks like a ghost next to Annie- and she's a vampire xD

now he's sitting about in his human bits enjoying his reunion with his sister. it's been a long time coming. he'll only be a goaty boy when the mood strikes him.. after i manage to get his magnets to stay glued in.. -_- i'm apparently a remedial magnet-gluer. *sigh* the outfit is really lovely, both of them are, but i'll have to make him some decently masculine clothes before too long. xD a skirt and bloomers isn't his look of choice, even with a spiffy cape.

from playing with him today i've gotta say, he's a bit top-heavy with the human legs on, but he stands very solidly. i can't get him to sit up or do any interesting poses (with either set of legs!) like other people seem to be managing though. xD i figure i'll get better as i play with him more.

i need to order a better wig and some eyes for him. the ones i have are just a smidgen too big, so he looks a little shocked and his hair slides around on his head. xD it can wait a few weeks though, there are more immediate bills i need to pay off in the next 2 weeks. when i do order him some hair and eyes, i think i'll get him some shoes too. the hooves theoretically bypass that, but he's only a recreational hoofy, so shoes will be needed before long.

but yeah, i'm totally thrilled to have my little boy home, and it makes me even more excited about the other SOOM MDs i have on the way (eventually) they're so much fun to play with! i love my little frowny boy! xD

so i know i'm not the best at the whole posting regularly thing. sorry ya'll. xD

i'm excited that the Glot and Glati orders have been shipping, but i'm starting to get anxious about when mine will. xD i'm looking forward to Cuprit starting to ship relatively soonish, but not expecting to see mom's until probably October considering how far along the Heliot and Amber are. i figure by the time the goat babies are all shipped, it'll be time to send out the cublets (the ones pictured here), and i'm really looking forward to that. then after that i'll have some fishy bits to look forward to. i'm kinda glad Hati/Skoll and Eliv/Iv were pretty unpopular, it makes me think that maybe they'll ship faster xD shipping 25 or so is bound to go quicker than shipping 400-ish. xD

when i first saw Cass i thought i was totally Soomed, she has a beautiful classic face and is conceptually brilliant as a Siren. when the full images got released, i WANTED her, because i knew exactly how i wanted to paint (and bedazzle) her. after further consideration i've decided she's not for me since she'd really only be an art project and i don't think we'd bond well at all. instead i'm looking into buying Vesuvia secondhand.

i've always (or at least since i first heard of her) loved the look of Vesuvia, but she was pretty unpopular initially and not many were ordered/cast. i think the Pearl Violet resin threw a lot of people off. after her arrival photos went up, people in general realized how awesome she is and now when one gets sold (a rare occurrence) it gets picked up pretty quickly and the sellers are free to charge pretty much whatever they think they can get. i've found someone willing to sell the doll with all resin option parts (horns, clawed hands, tail-torso & barbed heels) and original Soom part-painting and blushing for 1200 USD +shipping. today i sent the seller a PM asking if we could maybe work out a layaway payment plan, or if she could just hold on to her for a few months while i frantically save. xD i'm looking forward to hearing back from her. if she does a) agree to layaway or b) hold her until say October(?) the next thing on my list will be trying to get the rest of her set- the outfit, wig and eyes. the eyes i could easily do without, i'm not desperately into them, but i really want her outfit and wig.

if it doesn't work out with this particular seller, i'm going to save anyhow and actively keep an eye out for any that go up for sale. i really want this girl. *sigh* just having this be a possibility makes me realize how much i wish i could have ordered her direct back when she was initially released. i didn't know about Soom back then though (luckily for my wallet) ..and she came out about when i was broke due to moving followed by a comic convention. xD

i spent a few hours today looking at all the images of her i could find on DoA to figure out what i think looks best on her:
yes!~ burgundy/wine, true reds (no orange-reds), dusky rose pinks (especially Beryl's outfit!) and rich greens make her skin pop.
okay~ black and DARK purple are good neutrals for her. nothing lighter than a plum shade works though.
no!~ white, grey, orange, brown, dull greens and the like tend to wash her out and make her greyish.
never!~ lavender and lilac-you'd think they would be good on her, but they make her look dead. X.x
????~ yellows, blues, metallics? who knows xD no photographic evidence

i think when mine first arrives she'll wear the white default Delphine wig i never use.. until i can buy her a cute wine/red wig. most likely styled in pigtails. i think something cute and innocent could help offset the blatant sexuality of her sculpt. i plan for mine to be in full-on scorpion mode pretty much all the time, which limits her clothing choices to sparates and custom-made things only. i do think i have some SD boy clothes she can possibly fit in until i can get her better. i may also have the Cuprit outfit by the time i get her (which is kinda depressing), so that could work for her temporarily too.

Wednesday i redid parts of Klara's faceup. Klara is the KDF Bory girl i got in exchange for the Skoll i don't want. she was supposed to be Chaunte's Bella- little girl, blonde hair, purple eyes. she couldn't bond with her though, so i borrowed her for a week to see if she'd suit as Klara. i switched her eyes to grey and her hair to black with blunt bangs. i knew about at day 3 of my week it was gonna work. hooray! i thought for a while about what i didn't like about her other (factory default) faceup, then when i knew it was the lips and eyebrows, i fixed em. xD Thursday i took her up to work and showed off her new face and the flower dress i made for her last weekend. it came out super cute, i'm way proud of it.

now that it's the weekend, i consider my week off officially started. i don't have to be back at work until Monday the 27th of July. my plans for the next week are to do some dolly sewing, take some photos of all the dolls, and play some guitar hero. xD Roro sent me some YO patterns, i wanna use some of them and see if they're scaled right, they look a little large. i may have printed them too big. i'm gonna make a few things and send them to Roro to try on Chris. if they fit i'll know it's all okay and start making some stuff for Nicolai and Momo, even though neither has shipped yet. i figure they'll need more than just corsets and bloomers to wear. xD i wanna make some things for Klara too, but i already have MSD patterns, so it's just a matter of getting started for her. xD

okay, my computer is still being a butt-tard regarding my camera, so the pics of Klara's new face will have to wait a while longer, but i'll try to get them up this weekend, seriously. xD

so this weekend i joined a split for the Eliv & Iv outfits and the Iv (blue) fishy parts. i paid off my part of a group order (and heard it already shipped) and made the last payment on mom's Cuprit.. i am utterly broke. xD

next weekend i'm paying for my part of the fishy split, and then after that i need to pay off the last of the Hati/Skoll order i'm splitting with my friend. after that, i hope no more dolls grab me in a "MUST HAVE IT!" kinda way for the rest of the year, because i've been poor from dolly spending pretty much non-stop this year. X.x since the friend that's getting Skoll hasn't had any hours at work in a month and wasn't bonding with her Kid Delf Bory girl, she's most of the payment. within days she'd slid into being Klara. i've been looking for a shell for Klara for months, so it was somewhat serendipitous. xD it's another doll on my list taken care of, and now Chaunte doesn't have to feel bad about not being able to bond or pay for her share of the order.

i already have plans for next year's dolly spending though. xD first up will be Irish Noelle (a DoC Shiny Petsha) then Destiny and Nemesis (Kid Dollmore Paran girl and boy twins) and Justice (DoC elfy Petsha). Irish Noelle is very special to me, but i can't really articulate why. she's the embodiment of what could have been, but isn't. i love her deeply, but that doesn't keep me from thinking about how different things could be if not for one thing.. the thing she represents to me. Destiny, Nemesis and Justice are the concepts from mythology. Destiny will be easygoing, very "whatever will be will be" or "everything happens for a reason". she is that reason, but she only reacts to what happens and points out possibilities, she never forces anyone down any path. Nemesis is "righteous anger" that's what it means, so he will be very protective of his twin sister. he'll do what he thinks he has to to keep her safe and happy, no matter the cost. Justice will be the middle ground for the two. i'm gonna get her blind Soom eyes, and everything about her will be perfectly symmetrical. no personal opinions or beliefs for her, it's her job to make everything has the right/fair outcome. she makes sure crimes are punished and good deeds are rewarded. as soon as something happens, she doles out the appropriate reaction, it's just what she does. it doesn't matter to her why something is done, just that it was done at all.

i'm still working out the physical designs for them, but when i have them drawn up, i'll try to share. i look forward to hearing some feedback.
