so i know i totally suck at posting, but i'm excited and need to ramble. xD

two weeks ago i got around to ordering Iple's JiD Tatiana (normal skin, mobility joint, large bust) to be my self!doll. she still hasn't shipped, but several outfits i ordered for her have. xD yay! i've been playing with her clothes and lovely green hair and adorable red glasses pining for a shipping notice. to try to cope, i've been haunting the JiD discussion thread on DoA, so naturally the JiD Real Skin event was pointed out to me, and i felt compelled to go look.

i already thought that JiD Vito (in spite of being a male sculpt) looked rather feminine, and very much like Moose, but when i looked at the Real Skin version i didn't see the resemblance. i do however think that RS Tania looks like her, so i'll be buying her and getting a Moose!doll to keep my self!doll sisterly company. xD Moose is always tanner than me anyhow, so i think the difference in skin tone will look good.

my big problem was that buying her would put me at 11 dolls when i've limited myself to 10, and also cut into my Dolpa savings. to get around that, i finally got around to selling the Glati that's been ignored since shortly after his arrival when we couldn't bond. xD yay! i'm unloading an unwanted doll (to someone who's been desperate for one) and getting the funds to buy one i really like! and since Tatiana and Tania were conceptually designed as twins, we'll still look sibling-ish even with the different skin tones. i should be able to order like, next week! huzzah!

i'm looking forward to doing her tattoos, and the crazy makeup Moose wears to work, and all the super fun customization. xD i even already did a mock up of how i want to paint her, and customize a wig. except the wig colours came out kinda pastel. hers is a rich plum, and a hot pink, and some lovely royal blue on the underside (all against a brown base). but this is basically it. xD



now i just have to figure out what i'll name her. xD "Roselle" or "moosifer" are what i've been calling her, but i won't use "moosifer" cause it's too goofy, and i'm not totally sold on "Roselle" yet. it's almost too ethnic sounding? i dunno. i like it, i just dunno if it's the right name for her. Moose likes it though. xD

so mom wasn't bonding with her Iplehouse Jessica, and i'd decided a while back that Delphine was no longer the right shell for the character she was supposed to be, so we traded. and i have some pics. excuse the EXTREME flash, i did what i could but it's hard to find good light in the winter. *shrug*

i started by trying every color wig i had on her, just to see what i liked most. in the black hair i think she actually looks kinda like Roro.. the winner though was the red wig, which is the one mom gave to me with her. how handy xD

i'll be making her some clothes of her own pretty soon, but for now she's only got the dress i made for her when she was still mom's. i already love her so much! xD

the foot tattoo is a little fuzzy, but it's a TINY (like 5mm square) version of this, which i'm gonna get on my foot when i can stop spending all my money on dolls. xD Momo's version wouldn't photograph very clearly at all.

we started the move last weekend, Friday after work and had everything moved over and the old place cleaned up Monday after work. our internet didn't get switched to the new place until yesterday around lunchtime. i spent all of last night after work catching up on what i missed while i was away. now that everything's in the new place we've spent our after-work time trying to get everything unpacked and organized so there's room for our roommate to move in this weekend.

the roommate thing is a semi-recent development: a friend of ours is splitting from his wife (i think he only stuck it out this long for his little girl) and he needs a place to go, so we've rearranged. we have no office here for sewing/drawing stuff (the initial reason we were upgrading to 2 bedrooms) instead the smaller room is Nate's as of this weekend when he's moving in. he doesn't really have anything so we're giving him a bookshelf and setting up my old twin bed in there. he's responsible for 1/3 of the rent and his share of groceries. since he still has his job, that seems perfectly fair to me.

the upside to this for me is that it gives me a little more wiggle room in my finances. i'd been budgeting pretty strictly with all the dolly stuff happening lately, this will give me pretty much a little cushion every month. i'm gonna try to still put the same amount aside, but if i NEED it, the surplus will be there for whatever.

but yeah, back to unpacking! *runs off to keep unpacking everything*

okay, so most of you (probably?) know when kyu and i moved where we live now (last October) we'd hoped for a 2 bedroom but there weren't any available. we took a one bedroom and an empty promise we had first dibs on any openings for an upgrade at the one year point. it hasn't been a year yet, but we have a new manager, and a lot of people have moved out. last weekend we went to see the new manager to see what it'd take to upgrade. he told us that there's plenty of empty 2 bedrooms now, what people really want are the one-bedrooms. he offered to let us upgrade and waive all the fees and such that should go with it since we've been awesome residents while we've been here. he just didn't know which units specifically were available. xD to be fair, he was dealing with gas leaks and the whole complex losing their hot water..

today we went and talked to him again. he gave us the key to a recently-vacated apartment and asked us to look through and see if we liked it. we do! he said he'd have all the between-tenant maintenance stuff done this week and we can aim for moving in by Sept 1st. that gives us 2 weeks to pack all our stuff (and probably get rid of some of it) and clean the current place top-to-bottom, and get everything moved in, unpacked and finished. xD we started the cleaning here last night (because kyu's fried Nate is visiting this weekend) so keeping it going shouldn't be too hard. Tusday i'm gonna try to bring boxes home from work so we can get to packing. i'm taking charge this time, so it should go MUCH smoother. everything will be neatly packed and every box WILL be labelled with what's inside it and what room it goes into. this time no pushy (but well-meaning) neighbors are going to tell me what would work better, no one will overrule my directions by deciding the priority is swiftness over organization. last time we ended up with everything shoved in the living room with no room to maneuver, then our volunteers went home since everything was moved. >_> it's MY home, so my word will be law. i want to move all the boxes first, putting them in the closets of the room they belong in. then people will be asked to help with the big stuff. the upstairs rooms first so we don't have to lug things past already-placed furniture.

i'm actually excited about this now that it's real. xD we've been officially noted as the new residents of apt 255. next weekend we'll fill out the paperwork and possibly start moving the first packed boxes. Sept 1st is our goal date, but i'd like to have it DONE by Aug 29th so i have the 30th to relax and settle all-the-way in.

so as my oh-so-clever title suggests, i took Nicolai in to work today to show him off. he was in his goaty bits since a) they're awesome, and b) i have no shoes for his human feet. xD i have pictiures! not a ton, but enough to show how i did him up. also, photobucket is being spazzy. if the pictures are sideways, just tilt your head 45 degrees? xD

before having the hooves attached this morning, he was snuggling his big sister. even with the flash dimmed, you can see he's WHITE! he makes super pale (but normal skinned for a DoD) Annie look almost tan. xD

when i got to work, i took a pic of the whole ensemble. the magnet came out of one horn during my walk, so that horn is just kinda perched on top of his head. xD i blended the blushing better than it looks like in this pic too, it looks so dark under the knee due to a bad angle on my part. i was being rushed..

..not so rushed i couldn't do a jazz-hands Fosse! type pose though. xD his glittery hooves make me think of a goat doing tap-dance on Broadway. you can see here that it does blend from calf to knee to thigh though.

i also took a snap of how i painted up the wings: the "evil" left side white with white glitter (which did NOT play nicely with the flash) and the "good" right hand side black with black glitter. the wings are for Momo, but she hasn't shipped yet, so Nicolai is borrowing them until she does.

the last pic was from lunchtime. trying to drink my soda at Subway. xD just too too cute!


i didn't really feel like he was home until this morning when i woke up and saw his option parts all done up and completed. now that the things he'll almost never use look totally awesome, it seems like he's finally really here. xD
