so i'm waiting for my order of doll clothes. i got a shipping notice a few days ago, so now comes the worst part of waiting where i know it'll be here soon, but it's not just yet. this part of waiting drives me crazy. X.x
i borrowed season one of Batman: the Animated Series from Tiffany at work, and i've been watching that today. i'd forgotten just how good it really is. i'm about halfway through it so far. i'll really have to get it for myself now. it can wait for a month or so though, there's too much other stuff i'm saving for presently. *sigh*
right now my list is:
1. a new computer (plus desk and chair)
2. a weight set for kyu (late christmas gift)
3. a CP Lishe (plus alternate hands and wig) to make into Xavin <3
4. dye and equipment to tan said CP Lishe to the appropriate milk chocolate skin tone
5. clothing for her in a black and purple colour scheme
6. doll shoes for all the resin kiddos
7. clothing for me xD yay me!
obviously my tax return won't cover all of that, so i'll just work my way down the list as i accumulate savings. i'll also try to post any progress i make. having my own computer will help a bit with that though, as i won't have to fight for time on this one. it's easier to keep up with a schedule when other people aren't screwing up your timing. i really can't complain too much though since this is poppa's laptop after all..
in case no one knows what a Lishe looks like, this is her. i'll be getting mine without any makeup though and doing it myself after the tanning process. i've been researching self-tanning for the past few days, and from what i've seen the general consensus is that the entire process (from the first cleaning to the neurotic sanding to the second cleaning to the actual dying to the sealing to the faceup then the final sealing) takes approximately 15 hours. xD i'm just crazy enough to really be looking forward to it.
for those who don't know who Xavin is, she's my favourite character from Marvel's Runaways title, which is a really good book that has been plagued by horrendous delays lately. this is her in her default human form (being a shapeshifting alien she can take several forms). i personally find her adorable here. this image comes from what is likely the best scene written for any comic period. Xavin is lecturing the others on how it's wrong to pretend to be something you're not while shifting from her male disguise to her true form in the course of three panels.. followed by the resident moron saying "oh please tell me someone else sees the irony here! that was the coolest thing ever!" xD i just wish the art was as good as the writing.. i'll be sad to see this writer go after the next issue, but the new writer is also good, and his artist is reasonably talented and (most importantly) capable of getting his books out on time.. early in some cases. aso we'll see how the new team works out.. as soon as this story finishes up.. finally.
